Yesterday I did my part as an American citizen and headed home to cast my vote for the 2012 Presidential Election!
After voting, Caitlyn and I decided to treat ourselves to lunch and some much needed twin time! We walked up and down Warren Street in Hudson until we found the little pizzeria we had visited months ago. Apparently Tuesday's are a slow business day for Hudson, as a handful of the stores were closed. However, Baba Louie's was quite busy (I guess we weren't' the only ones craving some of their delicious pizza)!
To start, we split the Insalata Allegra salad.
There was a generous portion of mixed greens, dried figs, apricots, roasted pecans with Baba Louie's house balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was fantastic, we ate every last bite!
Baba Louie's offers a large variety of specialty pizzas with an amazing number of toppings to add atop their sourdough crust. With all of the wonderful options Cait and I were having trouble picking just one pizza to split. . .So, we decided to split two individual pizzas instead!
The Dolce Vita was full of tomato sauce, wilted spinach, fresh mozzarella, California figs, gorgonzola, prosciutto and parmesan topped with infused rosemary oil.
The lovely Puttanesca Pizza (aka my FAVORITE) was overflowing with shrimp, anchovies, roasted garlic, capers, tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, green olives, parmesan and fresh oregano.
Okay, so 'favorite' is probably an understatement. Every bite of this pizza was an explosion of flavors that can only be defined in one word. Perfection. (I also realized I have a new love for capers while eating this pizza).
After pizza, Cait and I decided to talk down Warren Street a bit more and check out some of the shops that were open. I found one that I absolutely must come back to!
This place had everything and more!
We decided to do a bit of window shopping . . . and came across a number of shops expressing their opinion on election day.
After a while Cait and I needed a pick me up and decided to stop into The Cascade for a steaming cup of caffeine.
Mmm... I enjoyed my latte while Cait
sipped downed her cappuccino. After our quick caffeine fix we went our separate ways and I headed back up to Albany to discover later that evening that . . . . . .
