This summer is the third year in row that I've spent the first week of August on LBI with M and his entire family. We spend all week relaxing, laughing with each other, and taking in all of the beauty the beach has to offer us. I truly feel blessed and so grateful that I am a part of it all and will remember this time for the rest of my life.
For the past couple of nights I've taken some time to walk on the beach and reflect on all that I have to be thankful for.
It's so quiet and peaceful with just the sound of the ocean waves splashing against the sand and looking at all of the remnants from the day's beach goers washed up along the shore.
(This is a long one, full of pictures!)
Adorable little sand pipers and gulls.
Those sand pipers are fast little guys, who make a game of running along the beach and playing with the waves. They run out towards the ocean but once the tide comes back in they scurry their little butts back up to the beach, as if the they're playing tag with the water.
A big shell, which I'll use to hold my jewelry once we get home.
A dead jelly fish, RIP little guy.
Someone's collection of seashells from earlier in the day.
Huge bolts that are used to keep the jetty intact.
My first kite experience.
As always, keep up with me on Instagram, where you can see a couple of my Instavids from my walk.
