BREAD & BOTTLE IN RED HOOK

I decided to take a trip down to Red Hook over the weekend to get my hair cut and have a quick visit with my twin.  Alexa joined me for the ride and we decided to make a day of it. We ended up at Bread & Bottle for a  late lunch.

We picked a bottle of wine and discussed which goodies we would try first.
I must say, I was very impressed with the food, beer, and wine selections the Bread & Bottle offered.

We opted for a bottle of Chardonnay.

In addition to their cheese and charcuterie boards (which the three of us were eyeing), Bread & Bottle also offer paninis, salads, pizzas, and freshly baked bread.

We ordered two items from the charcuterie and two from the veggie section of the menu.

Chorizo, country style pate, roasted artichokes, and squash caponata with a handful of roasted nuts.
The pate and chorizo were delicious, making each cheese pairing unique and flavorful. However, the roasted artichokes were hands down my favorite item. They had a perfectly crisp outside with a soft center that possessed a delightfully refreshing lemon flavor. I have a feeling I'll make an attempt to replicate these artichokes in the near future.

We chose four different types of cheese.

An herbed goat, camembert, blue, and one with nice nutty flavors.  We were also given a few pear slices to accompany the cheeses.
They have a limited number of options for each variety of cheese. We were very happy with our choices, however, it was tough deciding which cheese to pick initally. Their menu only listed the names of each cheese and if you're not familiar with them it was tough to know which ones you'd like best. Hopefully they'll add some tasting notes to their menu in the near future.

I tried every cheese with multiple flavor combos and I'd have to say the mild blue and pear were my favorite!

All in all I enjoyed myself very much and I hope you'll check it out for yourself!
Keep up with Bread & Bottle on their Facebook Page
Now, for the most important question of they day... what type of cheese do you like best?!
