I love blogger get-together's and something I fancy even more is hosting them! Enjoying delicious food and drinks in the comfort in your own home while bouncing content ideas off one another is a great way to spend an afternoon. This past Saturday I invited my gals over for brunch & decided to keep things as simple and delicious as possible. So...a frittata and iced coffee was the obvious choice!
At the last minute I decided to throw some croissants on the menu, too.
I was thinking about sharing a recipe to make a frittata for yourself, but they're so simple and versatile that there really isn't an exact recipe - you can include any ingredients you'd like. So go crazy!
My frittata included sautéed onions, garlic, shallots, bacon, kale, cheddar cheese, and cherry tomatoes.
Although I'm not sharing my own recipe on the blog today, here are a few of my personal frittata tips.
I guarantee these tips will help you create a masterpiece!
Tip 1: Use a pan that can go into the oven
Tip 2: Make sure your pan is nonstick or give it a good coating of some nonstick cooking spray
Tip 3: Always include caramelized onions - because they're delicious and add some sweetness to this usually savory dish
Tip 4: Make sure your pan is plenty hot before you add in the eggs. It's very important the pan is hot enough so the eggs can form a 'crust' for the frittata.
Here are a few frittata recipes I found with fun ingredients:
Asparagus, Parmesan & Ham Frittata
Spinach Frittata with Bacon and Cheddar
What do you use in your frittata?
