After some shopping and lots of laughs we worked up an appetite and decided to stop in at Cafe Le Perche for lunch.
Their menu is inspired by the Le Perche region of France where they put a modern spin on the classic bistro fare.
Everything on the menu sounded amazing, it was tough deciding on just one plate. So we ordered a few and shared them.
|Cheers to you, mom!|
To start we ordered the jumbo lump crab cakes with Frisee, fresh herbs, and Remoulade.
We also shared the house cut frites with a roasted garlic aioli.
To be honest I could have done without the fries. They weren't all that crispy and I didn't taste any garlic in the aioli.
But they more than made up for it, because they were the perfect vehicle to absorb the amazing broth of the moules marineres that Cait ordered.
This broth consisted of butter, white wine, garlic, citrus, and parsley. It's so simple yet it had me drooling.
I ordered the Salmon Nicoise Salad with mixed greens, haricot vert, roasted potatoes, hard boiled egg, tomatoes, red onion, kalamata olives, and herb crusted salmon with a balsamic vinaigrette.
It was bursting with vibrant colors and wonderful flavors which left me feeling perfectly full.
This was great, it was so fluffy and light with huge chunks of creamy cheese. However, I do wish they would have distributed the bacon and cheese throughout the entire tartine a little bit more, rather than having it all on the bottom.
