I love a good breakfast spot where any day of the week I can pop in and enjoy a relaxing meal to start my day off right. That being said, I recently stumbled upon Tesoros Cafe (go ahead and like them on the Facebook) on Union Street in Schenectady while dropping off some dry cleaning earlier this week. I didn't have time to sit down and enjoy a meal so I just grabbed an iced coffee to go and promised I'd be back.
I brought my sister there the very next day to explore their menu and catch up over cappuccinos.
I was excited to see they had crepes on the breakfast menu, as I've always heard great things about them, but have never actually tried one myself. So I decided that morning was going to be the morning to try my first crepe! Cait and I decided to split one to start and opted for the build your own sweet fruit crepe option and asked for it with strawberries, raspberries, cream cheese, and chocolate sauce....
It was absolutely delightful and we devoured it in seconds.
Cait and I are both huge fans of eggs benedict so we both ordered it for breakfast; one traditional and one with smoked salmon, so we could trade and enjoy one of each.
The hollandaise sauce had the perfect flavor combination of butter and lemon that paired nicely with the addition of fresh spinach.
The eggs weren't as runny as I usually like them, but I wont hold it against them....poached eggs are a pain in the butt!
