THE CHEW: THANKSGIVING SURVIVAL GUIDE

I have the best twin sister ever. I received a phone call from her a few weeks back telling me to take off an upcoming date from work because we were going to the city to see "The Chew". If you've never heard of this daytime talk show, "The Chew" has been described as '"The View" for foodies and lifestyle enthusiasts. The panel of co-hosts on the show include famous chefs Mario Batali and Michael Symon, entertaining expert Clinton Kelly, "Top Chef"alumna Carla Hall and author Daphne Oz.
(The episode I attended is airing TODAY (11/25/14) at 1 p.m.)

After waiting outside the ABC Studios for what seemed like an eternity on the coldest day of the year I was beyond ecstatic when we were finally seated in the warm studio with great seats.

We sat two rows behind the tasting table and had a perfect view of the cast and crew as they shared tips and recipes for the episode.

I obviously wasn't allowed to snap any photos while they were filming, but I still wanted to share my experience with you!  So, I thought I'd share the recipes each of the co-hosts made while filming the episode I attended: Thanksgiving Survival Guide.

The show started off with Chef Michael Symon making a mouth-watering Bacon Bloody Mary. He had the entire audience and even some of the crew members drooling and shouting out for a taste of his Bloody Mary.  I'm definitely going to make this recipe Thursday Morning and you should too!

Chef Mario Batali shared an Ancho Chili-Maple Turkey recipe. Find the step-by-step directions here.

You can accompany the turkey with Michael Symon's pan gravy recipe.

I was most excited about Clinton Kelly's Creamed Spinach Potato Gratin. I'm personally more of a sides girl when it comes to the Thanksgiving day meal and this recipe had my name all over it!

Daphne Oz shared a Squash & Sausage Saute recipe that was topped with crumbled goat cheese...yes please!

Carla Hall finished up the episode with a Chocolate Phyllo Tart that I'm sure tastes as good as it looks!

The co-hosts were extremely nice, but I'd have to say Carla, Clinton, and Michael were the most friendly. Carla came out and danced with the audience in between each segment and after the taping both Michael and Clinton came up to the audience to say hello and take photos.

Everyone (yes, including me) was screaming at them to come take a photo. I was able to catch their attention and we took some selfies.

If you're interested, you can get tickets for "The Chew" here. The tickets don't cost a thing, just make sure you reserve your tickets ahead of time and follow their dress code guidelines and I'm sure you'll get great seats!
