While I was waiting for the mug I made yesterday to finish baking in the oven, I made a de-lic-ious grilled cheese sandwich!
I wasn't going to share this with you, for the simplicity and ease of making this sandwich did not seem worthy of a post. However, after I took one bite, the cheesy and peppery goodness simply melted in my mouth and made my taste buds explode! And I knew this would have to be my next post!
I started with my favorite bread; the only bread I have been eating consistently for over a year; Heidelberg Multi-grain Bread. This bread is softy and a tiny bit crumbly with great texture from all the various grains.
First, I spread a little butter on the outside of each piece of bread.
After placing the bread, butter side down in the pan, I added the simple yet distinctive ingredients.
Baby Arugula |
Italian Boschetto with truffle (Left) Dutch Mill Dance Gouda (Right) |
The boschetto is semi-soft cheese and made from both cow and sheep's milk; with a delectable texture and complementary flavors, this cheese has quickly gone to the top of my "favorite cheese list".
Gouda has always been a favorite cheese of mine; the creamy mixture went perfectly with the arugula and boschetto cheese.
(I bought both types of cheese from Cardona's Market )
Before closing the sandwich to let the melty magic happen, I sprinkled everything on with sea salt and fresh ground pepper.

Finally! I flipped the ymmy 'ol sammy over and was instantly greeted with a crispy, golden, and delicious piece of bread.
Wait for the other side of the sandwich to turn golden and then . . .
Cut. Bite. And Enjoy!!!
I paired my grilled cheese with a nice glass of white wine and one of my fancy cubes from a couple of days ago!
Please let me know, what do you like to add on your delicious, ooey-gooey, grilled cheese sandwiches?!
