A Taste of Albany & Champagne on the Park

With warmer weather underway, the Capital Region has been having an increased number of events each week and I am loving every minute of it! At the beginning of the month we attended A Taste of Albany, which is a culinary showcase and benefit for the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless. Not only was this all for a great cause, but every aspect of the evening was absolutely wonderful and delicious. There was so much amazing food, wine, sweets, beer, and spirits at this event that I was constantly finding myself surprised at the tasty treats I discovered around each corner. Here are a few of the photos I was able to snap....

They had a large area reserved for tables where people could sit and enjoy all of the food and drinks, but seeing as how I tagged along with the Distillery I was standing by their table most of the evening and wasn't able to take as many pictures as I would have liked. If you enjoyed the couple of pictures I've posted then I highly recommend you attend next years event!
Before we left the event, I made it clear to M that we JUST HAD TO dress up and take some photos in the lovely photo booth, obviously. He put up a struggle for a quick second and then channeled his inner diva and started striking some poses.
Please excuse the blurriness of these photos...I don't know what happened.

For additional (and clearer) shots of the photo booth shenanigans please check out the Facebook page. Overall, this was a fabulous event with great food and fantastic drinks. With the auction and cost of admission they raised more than $100,000!!!!

About a week later, I attended the Champagne On The Park event on May 9th which was hosted by the Lark Street Business Improvement District. The weather was wonderful, warm, and sunny where we were surrounded by beds upon beds of vibrant tulips. There were a bunch of restaurants there offering delicious food to nibble on while we all looked elegant with champagne glasses in hand. I was just a wee bit excited about all of the champagne and only had one plate of food from El Mariachi, even though there was much more food to pick from...silly me!

Champagne & Hibiscus

I had a great time and was so happy M and I decided to go. I DEFINITELY plan on attending next year and getting even more of my friends to come too! We stayed until it was chilly and dark out and the stars were trying to peeking out behind the clouds. For more photos of the evening check out the Metroland or the Times Union.
