Downtown Albany Restaurant Week was April 2nd through the April 11th and boy did I take advantage of it. My first restaurant week experience was at Cafe Capriccio, which is located on Grand Street. I've never been to cafe Capriccio before so I was pretty excited to see what they are all about. It's a very cute restaurant with great food and a homey appearance that created a relaxed atmosphere.

I started with the chilled mussels with lemon, olive oil and herbs.
M ordered the fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, & arugula.

I chose the grilled tuna with olive tapanade.

I absolutely love tuna and almost always order it when I see it on the menu while I'm out. But it's rare that I eat tuna cooked - I'm usually devouring it in sushi rolls or tuna tartar, so this was a nice change.
The olive tapanade was a nice addition, it threw me off on the first bite because I wasn't sure that I liked it. But after a second & a third bite I was hooked. The chef cooked the tuna to perfection with a little bit pink in the middle.

M ordered the Braised Beef Piemontese style. I personally don't really care for braised meats, as I find them all to be extremely dry, but M enjoyed it and said there was nice flavor.

We went with Dutch Apple Pie & Gelato della Sera with fresh berries.
The gelato isn't pictured because we devoured it right away.
Both of the dessert options were lovely!

I really enjoyed myself and look forward to going there again!
